Untitled #2
got a turntable for my birthday. its about time. I started buying records a couple years ago. Its hard not to when you see good music at the local thrift for only $0.50- $1.50. I've been listening to music I'd most unlikely be listening to right now if it weren't for the record player. Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Randy Newman and Joan Baez.
It's crazy how expensive turntables can be. I had no idea. In searching for one I found one for 100K.

I ended up getting a Technics 1200mk2. Sounds pretty good.
Some records that I've been listening to.

trying to get back into blogging. not that I was ever really "into it" but I noticed as I was checking some other blog folks that they have a link to here from there. Kind of embarrassing considering my blog died about 6 months ago.

Igloo of Sin
Here are some pictures of the igloo we made in sculpture class. After much discussion of what to make one of my students had the idea.
We have had it up for some time (since April) and have allowed students to do work in the igloo. Its fairly large and holds 5-6 comfortably. I have tried to monitor conversations and behavior as best as I could but neddless to say it has become an easy escape from our opressive rules at Lakeside, like: no drugs, sex, or violence.
As I was taking it down this week I found a bag of "sticky icky" green hrebs stashed in on of the cereal boxes.

Album Covers that I Like
Rubens dared me to make a visual list of some of my favorite album covers, it was like this: "Rob and I are doing it you should too!"
Why I like dem:
Milo's cartoon is so simple that any kid can draw it all over his school folders
The passion displayed in the expression of Juan Garcia's face
OK Computer is just a brilliant cover, I think it fits perfectly
Howard Finster is one of my favorite artists
When I first saw this album I thought it was a copy and that my friend did the drawing
I love that color of red and the whiteout splatter makes it!
Deerhoof albums are all good. This one is so creepy and playful, is that banana really coming from the MILKMAN's butt?
Bjork's cutest picture, adorable, beautiful, lovable.
This cover is even cool with out the 3D glasses it came with to view it.
Smoking is cooler in pictures than in real life and again the red.

Trigger Happy and World Shut Your Mouth
Remember the show Trigger Happy TV. The creator Dom Jolly has made another show called World Shut Your Mouth. Just as funny, it's bizarre and hilarous public stunts inspire me so much. Why don't we see more of this nonsense happening everywhere? Serious comedy about making life not so serious. Yes!!!
